Day tripping to Gwynedd

On Tuesday we headed up the coast to Tywyn to see our 'third' set of parents, David's aunt and uncle, P&P. Last year we saw them more than our actual parents combined as they have a little bungalow in Tywyn which is about an hour or so away from here, less as the crow flies so to speak but you have to go inland up through Machynlleth and along to Aberdovey, hence so long. I haven't been up to Tywyn since August and whenever I seem to go the weather is always lovely and sunny and Tuesday was no exception, lots of glorious sunshine awaited us when we arrived. After a very nice lunch in the Whitehall Hotel we had ice cream from the Halo Factory Shop I had banana and David had mint. I was hoping to take photographs but it was a little too warm to hang around!

After our ice cream we went on a drive through the beautiful countryside and ended up in the village of Fairbourne which is just across the coast from Barmouth. David likes Fairbourne as they have a little dinky railway he has many happy childhood memories from. With such good weather a walk was in order and of course there was much opportunity to take pictures along the beach

We made it to the end of the beach just in time to see the train arrive

If we had been able to I think David would quite like to have gone for a ride but time wasn't on our side as we headed back to Tywyn for salad and apple pie for tea. It was good to have a catch up with P&P and I hope it won't be long before we see them again and enjoy another ice cream!
